Is there suck thing as Bathing your child to much or to often?? I give my daughter a bath once a day if not every other day! My Husband and I argue because he feels she dont need a bath everyday or everyother day. She is only little and can not tell me when she would like a bath. I believe a child should be bathed just as a adult would bathe. Every day or Everyother day!! It is very Important for any human to have good hygiene. I hope I am not bathing my child to much?!?!?!?

That depends on the age of the child and how dirty that child is becoming during the day. Some children are very prone to dry skin. Frequent bathing tends to make this worse. If the child is a small infant and is not getting mud and fingerpaint all over them there is no need to bathe them every day.

I understand but sometimes my daughter will cry cry cry untill she gets her bath and thats the only thing that will relax her and make her happy. I make sure its about everyother day and she always has lotion put on her skin.

Well that is a whole different story! As long as you are not using too much soap a bath is a wonderful way to relax a baby! You sound like a good mom!

No no no!!! I always bathe my child...every single day. Sometimes twice a day, especially if the baby sweats! If the baby doesn't perspire tht much because you live in a place where it is cold, I'd at least wipe the baby with a washcloth. All over.

I think babies find bathes as relaxing as adults do. I don't see any harm in you bathing her once a day or every other day. I say enjoy the Mommy and me time as much as you can. They grow up so fast. I can't believe my oldest son turned 20 on Sunday and my baby girl is 2 already.

My mother tells me this all the time!! I cant believe my baby has a baby... lol... n her youngest is 18 months!! Its thebest though her having a baby brought us so much closer she is my best friend, and its so easy to talk to her about my daughter since she is going thru the same thing as me at the same time!! Its almost like we are sisters!! I Love this relationship we have!! Thanks for the comment!

When my first daughter was born, I would bathe her a few times a day as well as change her clothes for I thought it was bad or I was a bad mom if she was dirty, then my mother told me (I am one of 10 kids mind you) that a happy baby is a dirty baby. Let them get dirty during the day, give them a warm bathe before bed for this not only cleans them, but also helps them to sleep better. If you bathe to much, its like us, your skin will dry out. You are the mom and only you can decide if your child needs a bath or just a sponge bath. Cleansliness is next to Godlyness is another thing I was taught as I was growing up. But if your child is a baby, you shouldn't do it more than 3 times a week for it washes away their natural oils and that would make them more prone to skin rashes and baby eczema. So, I guess it depends on the age of the child.

no ur deffinately not bathing your child too much! the only problem i can see with bathing your child too much is that it pulls so much of the moisture out of your skin.. so be sure to put lotion on your child after bathing him or her..

Well it's not really neccesary to give a bath every other day or every day,as a baby doesn't really get dirty that easily, but there isn't anything wrong with it either. My oldest had dry skin, so we bathed him every other day, and applied alot of lotion. My youngest HATES his bath, so he gets one when he starts to stink (literally, b/c he screams the entire bath time, and I can't handle giving him one more often), but if your child enjoys it, and you enjoy giving him one, you aren't hurting him by giving him a bath every day.

Your doing just fine, dear. . It's okay to bathe your adorable baby (as i can see in your pix) everyday but that depends on the weather also. If you really want it to do everyday, make sure the water is warm to avoid catching colds or any other sickness. . . Here in our country, mostly filipinos bathe 2-3 times a day mainly because of our weather, same goes with the children once in the morning and one before bedtime. . so don't worry about it, it won't do harm to your baby.
