You all are going to love this one, lol....
GPS tracker can help you many ways. It will keep you from getting lost in the woods, also you can use it to keep track of coordinates of great hunting spots that you have found. So that way when you want to get back to the same spot, you can punch in your gps coordinate and get feet from where you dug the last trip!

I noticed you mention using a GPS. One thing I advise is learning how to properly use a GPS. I personally like Geocaching. It is a little like treasure hunting in a way and it'll help you get the hang of using your GPS unit.

Yes,a GPS unit is great to have to locate your deep woods locations and desert locations where you have hunted. I recently discovered the art of GPS cache, or Geo-caching and it too is a GPS owners delight. Happy hunting and great tips!
