Hi all, I play electric guitar, but currently I just plug my guitar into my PC and play it that way. I want to get an amp though so I can have more fun! I want something with good distortion and maybe a few effects. Unfortunately I don't have that much money to spend. Does anyone have any ideas about a decent little amp I could get quite cheaply? Thanks alot.

Might I suggest a Peavey Valveking 112? It's all tube, very inexpensive, has a great clean channel and the overdrive can go anywhere from a chunky crunch to over the top metal.

If you want something good with a lot of variation I recommended Line6, they use digital modelling & have models of all the famous amps built in, as well as a whole load of effects & stomp boxes. You can also connect them to the computer & design your own tones with the software that you can download from their website. It depends on your budget, but they do a range for all really. I used to have their Flextone & toured a good few years with it, it never let me down once :) www.line6.com

I'd like to try 15 watt solid state analog Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue and Vox Pathfinder.
