Nvidia or ATi

Hi guys and gals!
I need a little advice, I am going to purchase a new Graphic accelerator, but I can't decide between the two top brands.
I am vorking as a graphic designer, so I need to choose the brand that will help me at its best, but I also like car racing sims.
So ATI or NVIDIA??? Thanks
