Dogs with bad Reputations?

What is your opinion on dogs with bad reputations? Do you believe its all on how you raise them or is it really in their blood? I believe its all in how you raise them. If you raise them from a puppy and treat them with respect they will be well-mannered but some people are so set on pit bulls and rotts being dogs that are agressive and its in their blood and you cant break them of the aggresiveness. Tell me what your opinion is on this subject. I would love to hear it.

I completely think that it is in how you raise them. People are too quick to form conclusions. I hope it is how you raise them, I just got a pit bull puppy, and I already have a 3 pound Yorkie!

I totally agree with you 100%. But there are some breeds that do have it their blood, but it has to be enforced, if it is not encouraged then its not used, a lot of it is in the upbringing

I think for the most part it is how your raise them. OUr akitas are known for their food agression and they are food agressive but they are great with people and children. I know some dogs have a bad rep but I think it is how they are treated. They may have some inherited qualities but I think most of not all of that can be overcome ifthey are treated well.

What about roitwielders ? i think its in their breeding. i've seen none that are aggressive all their lives, but some of them their brain just grows too big for their skulls and it makes them turn crazy! i think some dogs have breeding problems with aggression just as some dogs have medical problems from their genetics :)

We had a black chow that everyone told us to keep away from the kids. They're badddd dogs. I have to admit that I worried about him because when he was born he took a breath then growled. lol We named him B.A. (for Bad Attitude) but as he grew we realized he was one of the most gentle dogs we could ever have. In fact he taught my grandson to walk. :-) As you know chows have long fur and Damon would crawl over to him and grab both little hand fulls. BA would slowly stand up and pull the baby up with him. Then BA would walk really slow till Damon plopped down. Then the dog would just sit down and wait till Damon got hold again. :-) So I think it's in how they are raised.
