NBA Rules

Alot of people disagree with atleast a few of the NBA rules such as, dress code, playoff seedings, 8 second violation, etc. List some of the old or new rules that you think should be changed and why. Not only NBA but basketball too.
I think that playoff seedings should go by best records not by divisions. I think that the all-star game should be based on the best nba players not on who the fans want.

every year they make new rules to boost the scoring in the nba they think defense is boring and not going to make the league money. what about the people that worked their butt off to be a defensive stopper they made their money by playing defense now if they can score their not worth a darn. teams have to reconstruct their teams to be scoring powers instead of being a well rounded team..

I have to admit I dont know all of the nba/basketball rules there are going, but I do feel I can answer this question in a general sense.
As time goes on, the game evolves, and the rules need to reflect not only the changing attitudes of th eplayers and society in general, but the changes to the game itself.
I would love to see changes in most sports rules, as I feel a lot of them are traditional, archaic and dont take into account the beliefs and attitudes of teh community today.
