Is it even possible? Had some trying times lately, and just feel 'blah'. I don't know if it's depression or just the blues. Time will 'snap me out of it' so it's not serious, but I don't want to resort to medicine to speed up the process. Is there something I can do in the meantime to help?

Hello whybird. Yes you can get over depression without meds. I was in the manic depression category, very heavy times. I'd get quite low, planned how I would end it all. That dark voice that takes me to the depths of hell. I'd snap out of it too and life would be rosey, then back it'd come. I did regression work to source what the emotional problems were. There were a few, like lack of confidence, an I can't attitude. The if only's were a common one. So much of the depression space was focused on what I thought I couldn't do, or wasn't allowed to do. I thought I was not able to get what I wanted. I was convinced the world was my enemy. I am a strong person, but inside I didn't feel strong. I felt like a victim. It's so ridiculous but it's what I was believing. I am a very capable person, yet the voice inside was punching the hell out of me saying you are useless. Anyway it was hard, very hard but I got out of it. I cried allot and even got angry allot during my therapy. But it was okay thanks to the people helping. I just had to get these things out in the open. I hope you can do this without meds too. I wish you well.

You most probably can, unless you are an extreme depressed person, Its not a good idea to go off your meds.

It is possible. Some people actually thinks meds can make the situation worse actually.

I think the first thing you need to do is seek professional help. Explain to the doctor you don't want to be put on meds that you'd prefer to have therapy. If you just have the blues or just light depression then you should do great. If you have clinical depression then you might need meds for a while. Maybe not for the rest of your life just for a while. That's something you and your doctor would have to discuss. Therapy does help a lot. I'm bipolar and I go to a therapist and it helps to get all the crap off your chest. But both clinical depression and bipolar are chemical imbalances in the brain so there is no cure for them. Just the blahs or light depression can come and go for your lifetime.

Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.
