That others just don't understand.
I have a friend who loves to fly. The closer she gets to the airport, the taller she stands and the wider she smiles. Airplanes are her element. To me, they're a necessary evil. Just a way to get there fast when there's no time (or money) for leisurely, civilized travel like boats and trains.
But put me in an auction hall and I'm in Seventh Heaven. When the bidding starts, my adrenalin really kicks in. I don't mind waiting hours for something to come up either. I don't even mind the bad food most auction's traditionally offer. (Excitement and bad food go well together). Sometimes I proxy bid for those poor unfortunates who get bored waiting 5 hours for their items to come up. I feel so sorry for those people!
How about you. What really gets you going that other (misguided) people think is a chore!

Very similar to yours! I sell Tupperware and nothing beats going to yard sales, garage sales, tag sales, Salvation Army, Goodwill, and finding old Tupperware. Oh, I'm giddy just thinking about it. I've found pieces that had no matching parts at one place and the matching part at another place- ahhh, the memory of that day is still fresh in my mind! One of my daughters found the original mustard and ketchup dispensers on ebay for me - they are so beautifully 50ish ugly.
I also collect kitchen witches (pretty hard to find and I am in total glory when I find one of these treasures), wooden rolling pins, and wooden spoons.
Wow, Irish, you have me going on a roll and it's only quarter to 9 in the morning! This is better than a whole pot of coffee!~Donna

I love estate, garage sales and thrift shops too...Right AFTER auctions. Isn't that 1950's stuff amazing. A lot of it sells higher than the 1850's stuff.

I can relate to the racing car but I'm thinking you've never driven a stick. Am I right?

I'm with you. I love to browse hardware stores. I'll go in and look around just because it's there. When a home repair does come up, I usually know what to get even if I can't make the repair. I like to think I've learned something from all that browsing.
