No, but I really think there needs to be a minimum age allowed, and I think that parents and schools should monitor what the kids are saying and doing to each other on sites like that. like everything else kids predominate now, Myspace was never supposed to be for stupid 13 year olds to chat on. They aren't mature enough to know howto behave properly in a forum. It was meant as a site for university students and adults.

i agree i really do agree with that because young kids get on there who have parents that work and think that they can get on there and talk to ppl and meet with them and thats how that girl got killed and stuff on there but it fdoes have good resourses and things like that

No minimum age either. If your kid is 13 and using the Internet, you should be watching what they are doing. Check the history, cache, etc. They can still use Myspace, just watch them. Unless of course you trust your kid (my parents do, and im fine).

Well of course it shouldn't be shut down. But parents need to be aware of what their kids are doing out there. They also need to teach their kids from a very young age about the types of things that you should & shouldn't make available online anywhere.

Im aparent and shuting down myspace because of what happens on there is just crazy. If you shut down myspace for that reason , you would have to shut down yahoo chat, msn.messanger, and so on. Parental controls were invented for such things. It a parents job to monitor there kids not the internets.

I am so tired of people blaming other sites or tv programming for the way kids act. It is not Myspace's fault for what goes on there. To my knowledge Myspace is doing their best to keep everything and everyone in order, but it isn't easy when there 100 million + going to it. Parents need to wake up and start acting like parents and paying attention to what their child is either watching or doing online and stop relying on others to babysit their kids all the time.

No, I think that parents should supervise their children better instead of shutting the site down. Also, I think that myspace needs many more moderators to stop some of the inappropriate subjects. I would no more want to see myspace shut down than I would want to see myLot shut down!

No, not shut down. But I think PARENTS need to monitor their kids/teens internet usage. Too much of this "privacy" stuff. I don't buy into that. Nothing was private in my home, not as long as they were not adults. And they turned out to be fine, upstanding adults. I'm not saying they were always perfect, but they knew not to hide anything from me, b/c I would find out eventually. Their cousin lived with us on and off for a few years, and she always got caught. By me. If I suspect something, I am prone to go through a purse, a bookbag, dresser drawers, closets, mail and even the internet. They should not be allowed to store passwords, or to have a password that the parent is not accessible too. My husband's neice just this month, was in a dangerous place on her myspace, she was way in over her head with some bad people, and she is vulnerable, only 15 or 15 yrs. old. I had to alert her parents to the fact. They didn't monitor her internet use at all. They trusted her just because she went to church. Well, she was using church as a cover. She was caught smoking in my home, by me. I had to blow the whistle on her. I love her and that's why. I think more parents shoule WAKE UP before it's too late for their kids. Kids are kids and they are going to try to get away with what they can. I remember being that age, and I tried my best and I did get away with a lot, but I also got caught too. My dad busted my butt too. And I love him and thank him for it.

We never had blocks on the computer or cable TV. What we did do was to have the computer and Cable TV in the main living area where we could monitor what was on and if we saw something we did not like we could talk to our children about it. Too often parents leave children unsupervised or don't take the time to understand computers and the internet.
