What is more important to you, keeping your word (promises)or others keepin them

Hmmm well would have to say keeping my word is most inportant and then my promises, although sometimes crap happens and you cant come threw on a promise. I promised my daughter we'd rent movies friday after school but then the car wouldnt start so we had to Sat when hubby fixed it.

other people keeping there promises is more important to me because i know how to keep a promise and if im not i will tell you but the people i have been around i cant trust and there word means nothing

Yes but do they always keep their promise. I know older people you can't tell them you will do something and don't do it. they really hate it.

For me keeping my word is important. How other people do it is beyond my control.

You cannot promise a child anything, they expect it. How old is she. if she is old enough to understand, than that different.

For me, both are as equally important. I don't make a promise i'm not sure i could keep, and i expect others around me to do the same. Some people promise to others, just to make them happy, but end up breaking their promises, which ends up making the person unhappy. So think before you promise something to someone.

I completely agree that keeping ur promise first is important,its the only way to prove urself to the person. I feel that if i keep up a promise ive made,then i can expect the same from people who have promised. I feel one should think twice before making a promise even though its a small one,because if u rnt able to fulfill it,then u wudnt be trustworthy for the next time to that person,and the person wud think n take a while to rely on u.
