Are there any cellphone carriers that allow people with bad credit to get a plan

I have a dilemma here. I am on a prepaid plan with T-Mobile. I really want to get on a plan as prepaid is so expensive for me. The problem is my credit is horrible due to my past marriage. Anyone know who may be a bit more lenient in the bad credit area? Thanks in advance!

The only one that I know of is MetroPCS. They are kind of local, in that I don't think you can really travel with them. However you can make unlimited local calls and for $5 more a month you can make unlimited long distance calls anywhere in the continental United States. Sorry I didn't look at where your from. They are a month to month and they are a flat fee no contracts. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I've been there myself, but my bad credit wasn't due to a bad marriage (well, partly, the cell phone issue was because mine kept getting stolen!), so I waited it out for a few years and then AT&T (before the marriage to Cingular) offered me a phone. Can you demonstrate that since the marriage you've been paying your bills on time? I would start with T-Mobile and go from there and be honest with them. Good luck!
