Do you ever find that you have a hard time finding topics to respond to?

Lately, I can't seem to find many topics that I want to post to! Its very distressing as I really enjoy this site, but it seems like there are so many utterly useless posts on here that I am just NOT interested in at all. Does anyone else have this problem?

I always find that it depends on what frame of mind I am in and what mood, sometimes there are far too many to respond to and I am overwhelmed with trying to respond to all my friends topics, well those that I can justifiably answer and know about, other days I find myself hunting down good meaty subjects which I want to get my teeth into but can't find any. Everyone goes through this at one stage or another. Give it a break, come back and you'll find them!

Yep, I think I spend so much time trying to find good discussions to respond to. It does take some searching to find those good discussions. I hate to come on and see the same discussions started by different people. I don't want to post just for the sake of posting. I try to come up with new discussions but I have trouble doing that also. I think it just takes some patience and searching. there are some good discussions its just that they get lost inbetween all the useless ones. I am not giving up though. I enjoy it here too much.

I've noticed lately that with a couple of users on my friends list I seem to be forever hitting the delete key, so I think it's about time to hit the delete key one last final time on them. One person just keeps posting jokes all the time. I mean......how can you discuss a joke? What am I meant to reply with? "Ho ho", or "Very funny", or "Thank you for posting your joke".

Yes, you're right ukchris, there's nothing wrong with a joke every now and again. But there's an awful lot wrong if the only thing you can post is jokes and you have to post ten of them a day.

EXACTLY! I find it very disheartening when I'm browsing through the new posts and it seems like nothing but jokes and inane posts that make no sense at all. And let's not get me started on the ones that are completely unintelligible!

Nothing wrong with a joke now and again especially when it cheers people up. You can always reply with one of your own

sometimes it seems more exciting them others. If you have some topics that you want to discuss, please post them. I have heard people say we shouldnt post too many topics but if we dont , it gets boring so we have to keep things hopping so its not boring to anyone.

Yes and I have been here less than a month , to many whiners lately ..I like to read interesting topics about life and things that are good not about how little or how much money you are making here or how someone is being mean ,or giving you a minus ...lets do something for everyone to want to read ...

YES! I have this problem because I have already answered one question that is stated 5 different ways with 5 different ways I can state my response. I can only respond to those questions so many times. Then there are the questions that are pointless. I know there is no reason why I should respond because come the end of the month, that credit rating will be taken away because myLot will delete it. I don't like seeing my ratings go down. Then there are the discussions that are poorly written, I don't know what they are really asking. I understand not everyone here has the native English tongue. But if I don't understand what they are asking...then I can't answer. Then there are the discussions that you know are created to just flame or generate a large amount of responses...normally about religion. So, I avoid those discussions. Jokes and recipes...I have no clue what to say. ha ha That was funny? or Mmmm, that sounds good? If I can not give a quality response, I am not responding. So what am I left with? Not much!

I also find this to be true. I have a lot of interests selected, but there are about a dozen topics that stay at the top because they keep getting the same tedious topics posted to them again and again and again It's really irritating!

Add a string in search through mylot option in such a way that you will recieve the results as wanted. The string must be special of it's kind I mean a topic related to your intrest. Try this way may be you will find what you want. Or second wayout is select a group of friends in such a manner that suit to your wave length from thought point of view.

Yes, we all go through this I think. I have even resorted to posting some jokes because I can't think of anything to discuss and get tired of wading through crap. Now I feel bad as I see complaints about people posting jokes. But I do think you can discuss them, add to them or share one as a response. I don't mind people posting jokes as long as that's not all they post. But when I can't find anything that interests me, I do a search on what I feel like at the moment. Or I go to my interests and check there. Usually I can find something in my friends discussions but even then I have to search around their discussions. What really irks me is the "are you cold" "U like Mylot, yes or no" "are U tired" those really irritate me.

Its a pity some good discussions just get lost in-between all the useless ones. I do find some posts are about things which i know nothing about, so i now make a point of finding out what they are talking about and then its a kind of learning curve. I also do tend to just stick to the discussions my friends on here have started. I pick a friend and then go through all their posts to see what I have missed, then pick another friend and so on. It helps to have lots of friends. lol This usually keeps me busy for quite a while. Other times when i get stuck i use that time to go back over my own posts to catch up on all the ratings and picking a best response. There's always something to do.

It takes much wading through the endless sea of one liners, but eventually I come across a couple that peak my interest and can answer to. I now look at ones that I really have no clue what to write in them and read up on the subject that is being talked about so I can put in a logical paragraph or two. I deem it a learning experience. Most days I just stick to discussions friends on here have started. I really like the e-mail feature which I finally figured out how to turn on, so I can get friend's new discussions in my e-mail makes life a whole lot easier. Well at least for me it does. Sometimes it also helps to take a break from sites like this and let your mind have a rest, cause even one can get burned out when overdoing something they enjoy.

I do. sometimes I search hard for interesting topics. if I don`t see any then i end up leaving and come back at another time. I wish there were always good topics to reply to.
