Ignorance of the Law Excuses No One: got any comment??

How do you find this maxim? Here in the Philippines this dictum is applied. It is actually a law here in the Philippines, embodied in our “civil code”. I presume this is also a law in the United States and in other countries. If you apply this in mylot, then a newbie who violates any of the rules in mylot is not excused simply because he failed to read the rules and thus, ignorant about it. Do you think this kind of dictum or law is justified?

it is justifeable, it is our responsibility to know things especially rules..It will be a lame excuse to say that you don't know it..But as any rules there should be some exceptions, or warnings. Such an instance is the age of comprehension to such law, like minors they are given special procedings compared to much older citizens who are capable of understanding the laws.

There is no excuse for ignorance of the law in the United States either. I think in most cases, that is fair. But, there are always exceptions.

I think it is justified. I think breaking a law is a bad thing and you should watch your back when you do. If you think that you'll never get caught, think again.

I think that anyone with any compassion would find this a bit harsh. 1-2 warnings and then a reprimand. If I had run my home that way I would have been a dictator and not a mother.

i think before anything else, one should always play by the rules, so one before doing anything should know what are the terms and conditions as well as rules. so in my opinion, it is really justifiable, although it may seem really harsh. when people start to adopt this things, then people become aware of laws and violations, therefore less rates of violations.
