Having a second job?

United States

Living in America is very expensive! My aunt always say that America is materialistic. I think it is true! Most often people work fulltime of 8 hours and they still have a part time. Some people even does three jobs in a day. I experienced having a part time too. I have a full time job in the morning, worked part time in afternoon and still go to school. I quit my part time job already, it seems like it is just a waste of my time because I am not learning anything from it. Also a waste of gas and mileage for my car. Earning a little money from it I believed is not enough.

Actually, you can learn or get benefits from your part time job. 1) you are able to learn society by doing part job. you leran how to associate with other people. that is a real skill you need in your future work. 2) you may enlarge your vision, and learn some new things and new ideas. 3)youcan earn some money, to have some pocket money. it is good. do not think so. of course, study is the most important thing in your life. I hold the opinion that it is good for university student to have a part time job.

Well don't you think that it's too much for me? I actually have a full time job and part time job at the same time then I also go to school. I don't think I need to abuse myself that much for earning extra bucks.

I live in the US, I am a stay at home mom, that is my job. I don't have a second job, I just work with my family. My husband is the provider for money in our house, he works 8 hrs sometimes he works overtime. But we stay within our means. So I don't have to work outside of the home. I think with people they work because they live outside of there means, they like to have the fancy cars and the best of everything. I couldnt imagine working 2 and 3 jobs just to have things that I don't really need, it's not like you can take it with you when you die anyways.

I agree with you. I live with my parents and I only provide for myself. I think earning some extra bucks for me is also for my own pleasure. I once told that "Don't spend more than you make"...which got stuck in my mind. Now I don't buy anything that I like unless I really need it. It's just a waste of money. Thanks!
