I have. I was at the beach with some friends going for a walk and I could hear and see and hear some people that were hysterical. There were about 10 people pointing out to the water and I could see a small child in very deep water and he was in trouble. Fully clothed, I swam over to him and bought him back to the sand. None of the group that this child was with would get into the water and do anything. I am so sure that if I didnt get to this child when I did, then he wouldnt be here today. Getting my clothes and shoes wet didnt worry me in the least, but knowing there were other people there that saw what was happening did.

I haven't had to save someone else's child, but had to save one of mine. I only had 3 kids at that stage and I had put sunscreen on one and was doing the next child. My son that I had already done went down the water while I was doing the next child. I looked at the one in the water and saw that he was struggling. I yelled out to put his feet on the ground because he wasn't in deep. He was panicking so much that he didn't do that. I dropped the sunscreen and went running down there and by the time I got there he was floating face down in the water. I grabbed him and pulled him up, he was ok but a bit shocked with what happened. I was still trying to get my heart to slow down as well because it scared me so much. He was funny on the way home, he said to me thankyou for saving me mum. How sweet is that?

It only takes seconds doesnt it. We really need eyes in the back of our head when it comes to little kids. Both of my kids love going. Both of my kids have previously been to swimming lessons and are confident of being in a pool, but it only takes a second of them being unsupervised to get into trouble. I know when I pulled the little boy from the beach, the water was at least 6 foot deep and I wondered how he got that far without someone noticing him. I bet it made your heart melt when your litle boy said thankyou for saving him.
