yes i am also a self-taught computer person. not all datas are need to be fed to u by other people, u need to be self-reliant in simple matters. it only shows that u can possibly do things as long as u have an interest with what u are doing.

I was typing since 5th grade and that's how I came to love computers. I learned computer applications at school very basic though and the more complicated are self studied. I am more advanced now and this time i wanted to learn programming.

I've been in the internet since August 2003 and I learned everything by myself. I surf, read, and learn things that i needed to know. I hope to be able to learn more and there are so many interesting things to learn here in the internet.

Yes. It's funny sometimes. I thought I would not learn how to use the computer and the programs as I never attended any course on such and nobody teaches me. But by trials and errors, I learned how to use the computer, the internet, Pagemaker which I use for the books I publish, Acrobat which converts my works into PDF, Photoshop, and so many others that I need to know regarding computers, internet, and publishing books. I thank God that He constantly gives me wisdom to understand what is necessary for me to know.

Yes, I learned almost everything alone. My father helped me with the basics in the end of the 80's. From there on, I started learning by myself.

I've learned most of what I know from either friends or from figuring it out on my own. I probably still only know enough to be dangerous.

yup i'm a self taught computer person i always became curious whenever there's something new in the world of computers so i tend to always find a way how to do things with my computer specially if it has a problem like it crashes or repairing upgrading certain parts, i do all of it alone without help from anyone since i'm the only one here in our family that has interest when it comes to computers and other techy stuffs

To quite an extent yes. I have learned most of the stuff through R&D. Infact i have become more knowledgeble than the people who introduced me to the world of computers.

i also learned everything about computers myself, but my problem now is when i tried to find a job regarding computers, i have nothing to show about my skills. no certifications etc. job finders doesn't check if an applicant really can do something about the job, it's all bout the written exams or interviews that is away from the work you know. have you been through this?

I taught myself how to use the PC, Windows, Linux, how to navigate the Internet, and how to code basic HTML. I've had some help from buddies through the years, but not any formal training. There have also been patient computers too.

I taught myself just about everything I know about computers. I just read tutorials online or read books. I have not learned one thing in a classroom about computers other than programming in Scheme.

Are you confirm that everything you know on computer you have self taught?Actually i ask this question as i think that you have definetely learn trick of computing from some resources may be other than professionals. The several places from where you have definetely learn some tricks are:- 1.A nearby computer shop from where you have purchased your computer software. They dont help too much. But what they reply is based on there experiance with products over long time. 2.Persons residing near you may be your family members or your friends. They dont tell a lot but there knowledges or problems sometime made our mind to find something new.and so.. 3.The large resources available about computer in offline or online availabe on internet.actually computing is much developed by single effort. While some software need group effort to do so and this is the reason. 4.And the last one is the second answer that i have learnt a lot from my experiances and The large varity of computer books which is currently in my bookself. They help very much by equipping our theoritical desire.
