What's your view on people who eat horse meat?

I know some countries do this. It just seems wrong to me, but that's only my opinion. Horses are pets in my mind and aren't meant to be eaten. That's like eating a dog or cat - seems morally wrong to eat your pets. I read an article awhile back about people who owned horses having their horses stolen and then sold to horse meat factories before they could stop them. Do you eat horse meat or do you think it's wrong?

No, I don't eat horse (at least not that I'm aware of....you never know what these chinese restaurants are serving you-lol) ;) It is weird.....I don't know about MORALLY wrong, because they are still animals, but still wrong nonetheless. And you're right, they are still pets. And uuuuuugggggghhhhuuuuh!! I can't say HOW angry I would be if someone stole my pet and made it into food. I can't even think about that!

I heard a news teaser on the radio this morning about some town in Ohio that slaughters horses for meat. I'd never heard about it, but it sounded like a real deal. I'll probably try to catch the story tonight. Sure doesn't sound appetizing to me!

I am a vegetarian - so I don't eat any animal. But I was raised around horses, and the idea of eating horse meat seems barbaric. But - I'm sure that we do a lot of things that seem equally awful to cultures that might eat horse meat...

It seems wrong to me too, I love horses... I just wonder what I would think if I were raised if a different country? I love to watch they travel channel with Andrew Zimmern Oh my some of the things he eats! I have not seen him eat horse meat yet but I bet he has tried it.
