The problem with intel is that they always produce new technology and don't care if their product is expensive and they don't care about the consumers.

this has been a debate just like the "mac or pc" thing. but it boils down to one thing. it always depends on the usage. i have both anyway since i have 2 computers. 1 intel pentium d and the other amd athlon xp...

hmmmm, if you harcore gamer and have a lot budget you may go with intel core2duo e6600, it ROCKS, but expensive, if your budget is limited, than you should go for amd (just like me), and still can use the less of your bugdet for buying the other stuff, like memory, vga card, etc, since playing games is not depend on your processor only, but also the other peripherrals must be in balance. IMHO

Guys, I've seen few responces. Let me share my Idea also I believe AMD is the best processor in terms of price vs performance. AMD is providing almost half the price of Intel with equal or a bit lesser performance. Its not that how much speed you have it on the processor, The system performance and speed will depend on other components like motherboard the bus speed, the memory you have, Harddisk size and the speed. Why do you think the servers are giving better performance than a normal desktop. Because of the architecute. So irrespective of manufacturer we must concentrate more on the architecture.
