I sold an Illegal Item on eBay

Hmm... I sold something that I guess is Illegal to sell on eBay and now the person who purchased it is trying to scam me and get their money back when they RUINED the item I sold to them. But once an auction is completed and the payment is processed I don't really see them being able to do anything about it... because the too were involved in an illegal transaction. I sold my World of warcraft character... just so you guys know it wasn't drugs or anything crazy like that!

If ebay didn't pull your listing, then I see no reason to worry about this buyer. If they did pull it, and this buyer contacted you off of ebay, it's the chance that they take. If they sent the item back to you, I would send it right back to them along with a note telling htem that you have documented the damage to the item, took photo's of it, because you already have a photograph of the item before it was sold, and you will not be responsible for damaged items.

well its not really Illegal to sell the toon but it dose break the agreement that you made with Blizzard when you made the account so i dont see the problem and plus if they are not the prowd owners of a toon they should not have anything to say... so i dont think anyting is done wrong in that matter.

First I would think that if there were something wrong with the item that you sold ebay would of pulled it off of the listings and it does not sound like that is what happend so I don't think that you have anything to worry about. You did not say how long this person has had the item that they won on ebay but it does not sound like it was damaged in shipping which would mean that it was damaged in their posession so I would so that you don't have anything to worry about. You could always contact ebay just as an anonimous person and ask if you have anything to worry about but I don't honestly think that you do.

Although this guy isn't entitled to his money back, I do suppose that if he brought it up with ebay, they might decide to ban both of your accounts.

I mean that is the worst case scenario. Ebay would only step in on the buyers behalf if you failed to deliver the item or if the item significantly differed from the description.
