I am just curious about do senior member of mylot send a friend request anymore. I mean some members has earnd good reputatoin in Mylot. They have thousands number of posts, good star ratings and always make to the top list with their discussion. I want to know do you send a friend request to a relatively new member if you feel he/she is posting good discussions.

I tend to go by how interesting a persons discussions are rather than how big their rating is ... some folks come into MyLot and post furiously all day and every day .. but it's all lightweight stuff and I can't be bothered to make replies to it .. but then someone posts really interesting discussions and I do ask them to be a friend .. so whatever rating they are on .. high or low .. I would ask them to be a friend .. And I respect that some people don't want any more friends so I am not disappointed if I am denied .. that's their perogative ..

Yes, if we like their discussions someone should not hesitate to send a request just only because he/she is a senior member.

What I do is go through their profiles and check out the discussions they have and if I feel I have something in common with them I add them. I try to stay with people that have the same interests as I do. It just makes it a little easier. Some I have we don't have to much in comman but that's what makes it fun.

Having people as a friend with same interest is the best thing. You always can enjoy reading them and respond to them.

Yes, I am an older person and I do send out friend request. Anyone can be my friend as long as they are a good person. I want friends in my life, since my life is so lonely.

I have along way to go to receive any status on mylot and yep I have to send friend request. Although lately I have been receiving more requests than i send. I have only been here about 4 weeks now though

I've sent a couple out to members who have over 1000 posts. (so far i believe only one has accepted) So my guess would be they either don't need friends, due to getting enough replies or something i won't mention. couldn't moi lol =) Kudos! ~Joey (when i reach to 1000+ i'll add anyone who makes the place a plus side.)

I have people who are Friends on my friends list who are Newer on here, and many with a lot of comments, etc. I am always going thru my friends list, and sometimes adding New people, and removing from time to time as well. I feel anyone deserves a chance at being on my friends list here if they can post Good stuff on here. I also take the time to respond to anyone who posts on my discussions trying to get to know them, and respond back. I have met a lot of wonderful people on here, and learn a lot, so it does not matter whether you are New or not. Will be you be here still posting in another month or so?

When I first joined mylot I added many people in the first few days.. after a while I started getting many friends requests and I stopped requesting .. I try to keep my list relatively small so I can be able to respond to my friends discussions and I regularly delete friends who post spam or low quality discussions .. Nowadays I request friends sometimes when someone posts a very good response to one of my discussions or if I like their discussions that I respond too, It's all about having friends who post good discussions either they request my friendship or I request theirs..

yes.i agree with your point. new members are somewhat and confused and do not know how to become a good member. if seniors help new people then they can also become like them.

Before I add anyone I check out what type of posts they make. I had a friend request the other day that was just looking for referrals. So I did not add this person. I have new friends as well as old and they are from all over the world. I also watch that I am not the only one responding. I like to get responses to my posts as well.

The friends on my list consists of: * my MyLot upline * Friends I managed to run into while searching for suitable discussions * Shared musical tastes (These people I met here I even had a few nice ladies in which we flirted with each other for laughs in some of the various discussions, some of the things we posted that'll leave you with the look on your face like my avatar.

Oh - I should point out that my avatar is an animated image in which does not show properly just by staring at it after reading my posts. You actually need to look at my profile, & watch it near the upper left.

Well, I'm not a senior member of myLot by a long shot, but if I notice people posting particularly good discussions then I request to add them as friends. Why not? I have to delete some people now and again from my friends list because they either leave, or their discussions have no interest to me, so it's beneficial to keep adding friends. I won't add anyone now though who hasnt posted any discussions. People should build up a discussion list before requesting friends as to be refused only causes offence in some cases.

Yes Biddy, it is an important thing to look in members profile before add them as a friend.

i dont think so that the senior members would send any friend request to anyone .they would be happy to do their own discussion and responses.

I guess if a senior poster reads a profile of someone who really interests them - then they still would send one. I would - but I don't think I quite qualify as a senior member yet!!!
