Squirrel Problem

Squirrels have chewed through the peak of my house and nested at the base of the eaves, what can I do? I don't mind killing them but I don't know an efficient way of doing it. I don't think a strobe light in the attic will work because they are in the eave, not the attic.

I could never kill them, but let me warn you, if you do chose to do this, do not use poison-you think that mystery food in the back of your fridge smells bad? And it will cling to everything in the house.
Honestly, getting an animal rescue agency to come and take them away or using live traps would be the easiest, and then you can patch-up the roof. When I was young, we had raccoons in out attic, and my dad hooked up a radio that could be turned on downstairs. We left it on during the day and sometimes at night-we couldn't really hear it unless we listened really carefully. That might be an option for you to prevent this from happening again.
