With my experience I feel that pet animals become our family member. They understand us and our feelings more than ahuman. It was a worst day when my dog died with an accident.not only me but my family was in depression.I can't keep any other pet now at home.Sometimes people say that we should get another pet which can decrease our pain. But we can't forget our Bruno..

I know exactly how you feel. I have lost other pets before and I would get another pet and yes it did ease the pain some. But it take TIME to heal that wound. Some pains may never completely go away. I lost my Missy last May. She was a cocker spaniel mixed breed, I will never forget her. I cry everytime I think of her. She was unique and special, not to just me, but the vet & staff and everyone that met her felt the same way. Something about her. But it was a horrible accident, I ran over her with my husband's truck when I was taking the garbage out. She and I always took the garbage out that way, but that morning she got under the wheel of the truck. I will never forget or get over that. I can't bring myself to get another dog just yet. I've been keeping my daughter's poodle, whom I love so much, she lets me keep her for a few days to a week at a time. And it does help. But I still miss my girl and I always will. The vet's office has even called telling me that I needed a new baby and they had one or two for me to choose from, but I'm just not ready. But in time you should when you are ready, get another pet to love. I will one day also.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I understand how you feel since I have lost a few cats to kidney disease. You will never forget the feelings you have for Bruno but in time you might want to share your love with another dog. I found out that each animal has it's own unique personality and I have enough love to give to other cats and still not forget the ones that are no longer with me.

I have to agree with you when we had to put our Buddy dog down because he was 14 and just too tired to keep going. Everyone has offered us new puppies, we seem to have gotten on some list. Because it seems like as soon as someone has a new litter we get the call "Wouldn't you love to have a new puppy. If might help you feel better to love a dog again." I just wish they could understand that we don't want to replace our beloved pet.
