pls some one help with new mylot rating

each time i get to respond to a mylot post i often read and if i get interested and have satisfaction in a post i normaly rate + and am sure that goes a long way to increase the persons mylot rating star or point but pls would like to know if some one rates a fello with - what will be the effect ?????????????
