Would you treat a friend/coworker different if they had a life changing illness?

A few years ago I found out I had a life changing illness. I worked in the medical profession of all things. Most of the people I worked with, some of them I had been friends with for years have treated me awful since then. I did not ask for this and it is not a contagious condition. I feel like I am being treated this way because of the illness because it wasn't like this before I found out. I could never do that to anyone and do not understand how some else could do it either.

It isn't right and you learn who your true friends are when circumstances come up. They either run or stand by you. And are their no matter what.

That is really low for someone to do. Even if they have an illness they are still your friend. It just goes to show they weren't true friends and you don't need friends like that anyway!!
