You all will be so super proud of me. All my pictures on DVD-R's now. YAY!! I am so super proud of myself. hehe Only thing is I realized that I didn't name the most recent photos (put titles under them), but oh well. At least they are saved and I am good to go. Now to check what is on my memory card now and see what I have to off of it and back up too. hehe Just had to share. I am tickled!!

I am glad to read that you have backed them up! Now, you don't have to worry about losing them if something happens to the computer! :) I know I still need to do mine! But I have not been on my desktop for a while now. I am hooked to the laptop. LOL

Congratulations on backing up your pictures on dvd-r's. That is great as I do not own a dvd recorder of any kind. I hope too at some point in time but have other needs for right now. I bet the quality is great and now you will have your pictures and memories for many years to come. I have a tendency to forget to name my recent photos and older ones as well.

We have most of our pictures saved to DVD and it is great to play them back on the television. Our grandkids get such a kick out of seeing their pictures played on the television. We make copies to give to our family members too. What a great way to share pictures.

Oh, I am jealous of you having a DVD recorder, lol!! That is one technological product that my family does not yet have! I remember how much I wanted a CD-R recorder when they first came out, that i spent my own money (money I made online, mind you, since I've never had an outside job yet.. so it takes me awhile to earn enough for something like that, a big purchase! *laugh*) to buy one, an external one that is now so old and slow that you can't even use the newer CD's on it. But we have other CD burners that have come with computer systems that my family have bought since then. Anyway, I would sooo love to have a DVD recorder, and I hope to have one one day, lol! But either way, I wanted to say just how proud I am of you for getting your pictures backed up! ^_^

Congrats for getting this done. I was just thinking to myself yesterday that it is time to back up everything becuase two people I know had their hard drive completely die on them within the last 2 weeks. I dread doing it. I need to get a system where I backup weekly or at least monthly. I have been really bad about backing up my system. I don't think I have backed up in over a year!

Yes, you made me proud of you today.lol. I am glad you got your pics on dvd-r's. I remember the scare you had with the computer and you thought you lost them before. I store all my pics in my yahoo photo album but I should probably put them on discs too.

that is wonderful, because i just lost about a thousand pictures because i got a viruses and it wiped all my files off my hard drive, i had some of the backed up but not all of them. I even have a anti virus but that did not protect me. so you are very very smart for doing that.

That's good to hear! I'm sure that took a lot of time, but you'll be glad that you did it, especially if you ever have problems with your computer again! It's a good thing that you got a "second chance" ... we really don't see the importance of saving the pictures until we almost lose them! I would actually even suggest going one step further and giving a copy of your backed up photos to someone you trust to keep in their home. A friend of ours lost almost all of their photos in a house fire ... insurance could never replace those lost memories!
