No, it seems that America is really cheating the world. America says that the war is to remove terrorism from the world but is only focusing on the countries that are threat for America.

Sad to say, America, like all countries, will protect their own interests. We will work diplomatically with other terrorists, like with the IRA, but kill those that threaten us. Force

We did never say that america is there to protect the whole world but why it then claims it attacks as war on terror and in intereset of the world.

But my point was, the IRA had a terrorist wing. We helped form a cease fire which has held pretty well over the years. We claimed to wage war on ALL terrorism, but only fight the ones that threaten us. And it hasn't stopped people from wanting to kill innocent people. Terrorist are not a threatening country. I see what you mean but disagree with your logic(a little).

The United States of Amnesia is duty bound to defend itself in what it calls the War on Terror, and that Terror is real, very real because they created it. Since V-J day in 1945 up to Tuesday 11th of September 2001, the US has been involved in over 200 military operations overseas in nearly 80 different countries, the vast majority of these ops were instigated by the US. There is no accurate listings of casulties, suffice it to say they are more than numerous. The world writhes in pain. It's people suffer under the iron fist of a dictator nation which deludes its own people about its actions, while masquerading as a democracy. In 2001 some of those hurt, bit back; the American public was shocked, appalled and completely at a loss as to why this had happened. Their government knew exactly why this had happened but chose to remain silent and used this situation as a launchpad for yet another,long-time planned, overseas military operation. US culpability prior to 9/11 has been conveniently forgotten in the red mist of vengeance. In this process US citizens have waived goodbye to their rights as the Constitution was shredded infront of their very eyes. YES, the War on Terror is very real and will go on and on for some time to come. Thanks to their successive governments' aggressive tactics the world is now a very unsafe and uncertain place in which to live, not just for us but for our children and our childrens' children.(It was never really too safe and always was a bit uncertain but now -- it's become a nightmare.)

The American people are by no means alone in being duped by those with the reigns of power.ALL governments have succumbed to a vile corruption which sets them apart and above the electorate from whence they came. You're right, the list could've been longer but I find really long posts boring, as I'm sure others do too. I tend to surf on by when I see a long screed. :) I admire the basis on which America was founded, it's a shame that such great men as say, Henry D.Thoreau, were he alive today, would no doubt have a room at Gitmo next to Washington's and Franklin's.

Too true mon ami, civil disobedience is now on the zero tolerance list. My condolences, your country is in a bit of a jam; damned if it does, damned if it don't! I feel for all the true Americans who wanted no part in the hawkish insanity.

Vikingswest, No I don't think force is the only way to deal with these problems. Sometimes, people only understand a hard fist to the eyes. Sometimes there are other ways. It is important to know the difference. Like my IRA example. There was a legitimate beef that both sides had and did not want to budge on. It took a long time for that peace to occur. England could've flattened N. Ireland but it wouldn't have helped. Terrorism can be looked at as a messenger to a real problem. They don't do it out of mere hatred alone. They do it because they don't have the means to do it any other way. I'm not defending them. But people will feed themselves. They will fight back when they believe they are oppressed. Force

Instead of killing the messenger, it's sometimes helpful to address the deeper issues and change the percieved need they have to be heard. Force

Very good. And really, I can't say 100% that I disagree with you. This is a very hard issue and if I knew the answer I would love to share it. I'm just thinking more of the source of the trouble. I think all sides have made mistakes. I don't know if our path is the right one. We do have to deal with it pragmatically so yes, we should fight when we must. But we have to, for the sake of humanity and all that is right, try not to be led by revenge. They can fear us and hate us at the same time. But I think hate is much stronger of the two. Good points though. I take no offence by your disagreement. Keep it up it's how we all come to understand eachother. Force

It is an eye wash and it is not possbile unless and until all countries get to gether and do it. Terrorism is politically motivated for own political gains.

There has never been a war against terrorism friends. The war was only for black gold (oil). Thats the whole point. Oppressing other countries to steal its resources. The real tyrant is Mr Bush. Saddam was a tyrant too, this is why God made him lose his country. Tyrants dont last long.

I don’t think so because if war begins then terrorism lost the war immediately as against terrorism there is power like US if US win over Iraq and Afghanistan in few days’ then even war against terrorism takes a few days.
