No Religion is Better that any Other Religion ! ! !

I just read someone post a "I DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD" topic here in mylot. It's pathetic for me that someone has the courage to be that absurd and narrow minded. Just because you don't believe in God in a christian ways, jewish ways, muslim ways. etc etc you think you have the right to feel superior and comment on this people are sinners and a lot of not so respectful words, very offensive words. Just live your life and let others do the same. As long as they are not asking you money to support their organization. We all have our ways of life, some people found there satisfaction, peace, faith and happiness of what religion they are in. Let them be, no religion is better than any other religion. there is no comparison and who contest of who is much better, richer, much value, closer to God. etc etc. A lot of people died a thousand years arguing and discussing religion, a lot of countries and people go to war in the name of religion but those times are far too different from now. My goodness, we are supposedly living in a free time, the generations that value freedom and liberty so why not do it and be what and who you are without minding people's business.

This post made me think of a line from my favorite movie" God don't care what church you go to as long as you show up". Thats from Steel Magnolias. I was born catholic, but i don't know what religion I belive in. I take a bit of faith from each on. No religion is right or wrong., they just take different meaning from God.

Don't you think it's a bit of a contradiction that you're railing on Atheists for our courage to admit we don't believe in God, when what you're arguing is to allow people to live and let live? How is it that Atheists are narrow minded? The last time I checked, it wasn't Atheists trying to get books banned or tell people to teach things in their science class that isn't science. If life is indeed free, then that means we Atheists are free too.

Great post - and one that I totally agree with. I am Atheist - I don't care what other people believe or don't believe - that is their choice - I just object when they try and fore me into beleiving the same as the and cll me a "sinner" because I do not.

Believing in god and not believing in god is purely a personal. Religion is purely personal. Itis better one keeps within their homes instead of going to public debate, which becomes debatable, generates heat, tests one's tolerance. You have every right to believe what you feel is right and other person too has a right to believe what he believes true. It would be wonderful world to live in if we keep our religious beliefs within ourselves, instead of spreading it.

I read that post and what stuck out to me was the fact they stated they don't believe in God but then turned around and called others sinners. As far as I know a sin is a crime against God's law as opposed to man's law. So if they don't believe in God how can you sin? Other then that I agree with you. What ever you want to believe is your right and choice including not to believe in anything. Just don't shove it down my throat and we'll be fine :) Now I don't have a problem discussing different aspects of religion and faith, it can be very interesting. I just don't understand why some feel their way is the only way, not only with religion but with other things as well. Let people decide for themselves and realize that no belief or choice is better then any other.

Please go back and read my post. The only person I called a sinner was myself. I am going through a crises of faith that has been brought on by thing that have happened in my life. I do not consider my self intellectuality superior to any one. I am truly seeking answers, not trying to create conflict.

It is sad to me when I meet someone who doesn't recognize that there is a higher power outside of ourselves and that everything in the universe was created just by chance as if it were some cosmical accident. However, they have the right to believe that and I respect that right, so I don't try to put my beliefs onto others. It does bother me though that so many people who are athiests think that those of us who do believe in God are intellectually inferior - or even mentally ill because of our faith.

Being ia believer is never been an inferiority and illness mentally for me. I am born catholic my family is very religious to the point that others may that it's beyond payeing - some see it as being fanatic, but I don't care. All I care is that some go beyond what is respect for others to supposedly "spread the good news" in their faith, a lot missinterpret that and instead of just spreadung the good news by sharing it. Mostly go preach as do they are holy and critizise others for believing and having a different beliefs in life

I agree when you say that alot of supposed 'nonbelievers' bash those that do beleive. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Don't be mad if someone tries to teach you about God, or a god. Be respectfull towards them and ask them nicely to leave you alone. Most will leave you alone then. If they don't, then they have invited you to be rude, because they are. Just for the record, I do believe in God.

you are totally right, I myself is a believer of God, I am a catholic but I am not the religious type you see every sunday in church. Being so devoted, but I believe and truly have faith in my own. I also listen to a lot of people making a big deal out of the faith and religions of others. Sometimes people just used the topic of Religion to make themself look good in the eyes of others and to let others see them with as a little much better than the rest. And worst to feel themselves highly knowledgable in the aspect of faith.

Actually, if we are referring to the same post, I think you may have misunderstood. THe poster was simply seeking spiritual awakening. He/she referred to him/herself as a sinner and is hoping for answers. I don't feel as if the person was trying to be judgemental at all. If we are referring to the same post.

What religion someone is, is clearly up to them. Everyone has their own beliefs and opinions on the whole religious facter of life. Its okay to spread what you believe to others and let them decide for themselves. Its like the missionaries who go and teach others in what they believe but its up to the people to follow.

Yes I saw that this morning as I came on to my lots, and I did respond...It sounded as though he was asking for someone to convince him.I suppose there is a lot of people in the world that has never been taught anything about God...I actually felt sorry for him in a way because he had nothing to look forward to and his life seemed so empty.I just told him why I believed and also added that no one could convince him that there was a god,it was something he would have to search out on his own...

I am not asking to be convinced, I am just hoping someone can open a door for me and show me a path. I am willing to do the hard work myself.

Every person has got the rights of having his own views and in India, we have 5 basic rights which are given to every Indian citizen which includes his freedom to obey any religion. So, if anybody supports any religion or the other or even he does not follow one, I think he should be left with his belief. Let him believe what he wants to and we should do what we want to. Religions have always been red hot discussion topics that often get into numerous disputes. So, I think we should be more interested in other creative topics rather than this one. well, thats my personal view.. You make yours!!

Totally Agreeable. I Was Told As A Christian Not To Judge Others As God (Whether You Believe In Him Or Not) Does All The Judging. You Make A Good Point That God Is Not A Requirement In The Teaching Of Life.

In my opinion any religion must respect other religions which means that if your religion respects other religions then it deserves the respect of other religions.Religions which do not respect other religions do not deserve respect.. no religion is better than any other religion which follows the above statement.

I think sometimes people of extreme faith feel that others should feel the way they do. They want to share their devotion so badly that they go out of their way to try and express themselves, but it backfires and turns people away. I also think that a lot of atheists feel superior over people of faith, and while it's sad that so many feel the need to be hurtful and judgmental, it's the same freedom of expression and opinion that you spoke of in your post that allows people to voice their thoughts.
