you know that all of them love and have many Barbie's. We keep them as long as we can. Here we have one case down where my daughter can get to them. We have another kinda big box up in the closet that we exchange the others out with every once in while.

We have about 15 Barbies and now it seems she's into more of that Bratz stuff. She likes them all though.

I am afraid we are to much teaching gender roles in a time when we need to allow all to be free to do all.

Well my daughter did have some really old Barbies and a few kens and a GI Joe. She played with them and kept them in good shape too. Well we had a housefire and now that are all gone. This was a few years ago and right after the fire I found some Barbies at a church rummage sale and bought them for her. That same summer she picked up a few also. Now she is 14 and considering selling them at the Swapper's Day event we go to every year. Can't rightly remember, but I do think that she had 30 of them or so.

When I was younger, I had 3 barbies, a dream house and I think a pool or something. My mom has kept them, I don't know why. If she gave any of it back to me, I would sell it on ebay. I am hoping if I ever have daughters that they don;t want to play with barbie. Unless she comes with a pocket protector and a slide rule now, I don't want my daughters growing up thinking that unattainable figures, fashion and beauty is what is important to women.

I never played with babries as a child, i prefered my brother's toys and we didn't have much money to buy a lot so my brother's toys were always passed down to me when he got new ones. now i have a daughter, she doesn't have any barbies but she does have about 5 disney princess dolls that are like the barbies. she likes them but i don't think i'll get the barbies unless when she's a little older and if she asks for them.
