Even though I always edit my posts, sometimes mistakes get through and that annoys me. It's obvious there are a lot of posters on myLot who don't bother, and I find this frustrating. Sometimes it's difficult reading posters who have English as a second language, but I appreciate their efforts, they are trying to express themselves in a second language. However, there are many native English speakers out there who simply can't be bothered. What about you?

I feel the exact same way. There are times where I get going and don't even notice that i've made a mistake, and yeah, it irritates me later when i notice it. But i also have problems understanding posts that are very excessive in their use of shorthand "computerese." b4. u2. ur. Thinks like that. Does it really take that much longer to type it out?

Agree, I hate it when you read one of your posts and there's a glaring error that you missed. I feel embarrassed, but I don't think the majority of posters here would notice.

I have actually found that if you are using Mozilla Firefox there is a built in spell checker. That way if your fingers are flying and you do mess up as long as you don't immediately hit the post link it will tell you what words you have messed up on. This helps me out quite a bit.

It's really unavoidable to commit mistakes here because sometimes we type very fast, besides we can't edit out our work here in Mylot. It's really frustrating to see if you had spelling errors in my discussions. I do edit some posts which I had done but many times I don't and I guess it was really my mistakes. But hoping next time we can edit out our work here in Mylot.

I'm happy for you that you're a very fast typist. I'm afraid I use the HUNT system, that's press one key and then hunt for the next. Mistakes tend to be overlooked when you're editing your own work. However, it's obvious that some posters are too anxious to get their next entry in to worry about their correctness.

I use Firefox so it has a built in spell checker but there are times when I will type in the wrong word like "just" instead of "justify" and it won't catch that - I do read over my posts before I submit them but there have been times when I missed something and it irks me to no end that you can't edit it once you have submitted it.

As long as we're human, there will be slip-ups.
