Be Very Careful What Posts You Respond To

I came across a post from a new member bragging how he had posted 1000 discussions and made over 35.00 in his first month. He went on to ask for our opinion of him. I browsed through his discussions, noticing on average he had 0-3 responses for each one (checked again today but still don't see anything over 9 responses.) I even tried to read a couple them but they made very little sense. One of the articles is so distinctly different from his usual grammar and sytax that I suspect he copy/pasted an article from a newspaper, another was nothing but symbols and a third, just a list of numbers and random nouns. He also found a way to post photos before he had 500 posts. He asked my opinion, so of course I gave it. I told him he was the kind of person who was bringing the site down, clogging it with garbage posts and circumventing the rules; that it was unfair for him to get paid such a (relatively) large amount of money for basically cheating while those of us who abide by the rules get excited if we make 90 cents in a day. For my honesty, I am now being cyber stalked. He sent a request to be added to my friends list; when I denied it he started posting responses on my discussions demanding I add him so he can send me emails. I have reported him to myLot, but now I almost hate seeing any responses to my posts for fear it will be him, harassing me again. My first instinct to any friends request is to deny, in case it is him using an assumed name. OK, sounding paranoid. I'm just really glad he lives in another country. If his profile is to be believe. But then I wouldn't put it past him to lie.

It's too bad we have to suffer because of such idiots. I wouldn't let it bother me. I would just ignore him and he will probably go away. It won't be any fun if you don't respond. I am always careful of where I respond simply because I don't want my responses deleted with the discussion. Of course sometimes I can't help but respond to some, sarcasticly or giving my opinion as you did. Those I expect to be deleted so it doesn't bother me. But lately I don't even bother with that.

OK - please don't let this guy worry you. I was "cyber stalked" on another Forum, and if you contact the Admins here I'm sure they will keep an eye on his url so that he cannot sign in under false names or bother you. Just carry on as you are - and don't let a few idiots put you off MyLot.

Thanks everyone for your comments and support. I have been doing as you suggested -- giving him negative rating whenever he puts an inappropriate response on my topics, reporting him to myLot and then ignoring him. I think either myLot intervened or he just got tired, cause I haven't heard from him in a while.

It's a shame that you have to deal with this loser's nonsense just because you answered him honestly. But you did the right thing, and you've reported him to MyLot. The administration will surely get rid of him quickly. In the meantime, just go about your posting here and try to ignore him. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to react to him. What he wants is to get you upset and to have you post something back that he can report. Don't play his games. If he asks to be added to your friends list under an alias, delete him as soon as you find out. If he responds in your discussions send a report to MyLot and rate him negatively, but don't comment back to him. One way or another he will go away soon. He won't put too much time into stalking you, because that takes away from the money he could be earning by cheating! That is until he gets the boot from MyLot! Hang in there, and Good Work!!

I never knew we could be cyber stalked. I feel that we should take caution of such people around. Lets await the news of MyLot moderators towards your reporting of that person. I am glad that this is just an online forum, imagine if its not cyber stalk but otherwise, there must be justice, even if its just online. Laws, and reulagtions must be observed.

How horrible that someone would behave like this. I know the person who was how I found out about mylot is a cheater and as soon as I read the guidelines I knew this. His big sales pitch was "don't take a lot of time writing just a few words and you get paid" and "you don't even have to read anything just copy and paste something". My first day here though I learned before I accept a "friend" I check and see what kind of posts they have made. If it looks like nothing I would be interested in or junk I just deny them. I never thought about repercussions such as you had. I think mylot will catch them though.

Wow, what a nightmare. Hopefully by now this guy is gone. I had added a friend (I haven't been as vigilant as you) and soon enough this guy was sending me spam messages from Nigeria on my email here at MyLot. You know the type, you deposit money in your account and you will get a huge sum from some Nigerian official. It's bad enough to get those type of things in regular email, but getting them on this site was just unbelievable. I deleted the guy from my friends list and haven't hear from him again. There are con artists everywhere on the Internet and apparently, here too. Good luck and thanks for reporting him.

I've seen several like that. I report them but don't respond so they don't know who did it.

I just requested to be added as a friend but now, after reading this post I understand if you choose not to. No problem and I hope that person doesn't bother you anymore.
