Graphics card

hi intend to get a graphics card for my pc, i don't know much about graphics cards so help me in choosing one.my pc is an AMD 2700+ (2 Ghz),1 GB RAM and ASUS motherboard which has both PCIe & AGP slots.my pc runs almost every game ,thanx to the nvidia geforce 6100 onboard graphics chipset.but i want to get better fps and some cool rendering.is there any difference in performance b/w AGP & PCIe cards?what card should i go for? Geforce or Ati ?pls help me

There is much difference between PCIe and APG cards, PCIe are quite more powerful than AGP ones, their "memory bandwidth" is bigger and such. The new GeForces seem to be a good option, they're more "powerful" than ATI, while these have a better driver, so they can do ALMOST the same without so much power (or at least it was like this 2 or 3 years ago). I'd recommend a GeForce PCIe, since you have the slot, it won't fail you! ;)

Thanx man , i bought a geforce 7300GT With 512 mb ram for my PC and its works like magic and now i'm playing all latest new games.
