Is it ok for a Male Teacher to Date a Female Student who is in her final year?

Is it ok if a male teacher in the college department spends time outside the college premises with a female student who is in her final year . They Claim to be "friends" but go out for lunch,dinner,long drives,long phone conversations etc etc .He doesn't teach any subject in her class but still belongs to the college faculty.he's abt 8yrs elder to her . Isn't it wrong on his part to socialize with students on this level...????? I find this very wrong and would like some honest opinions about this ..

I dont think there is anything wrong with that, as long as both of them are ok with it.

But its wrong for teachers to socialize with students beyond the academic level isnt it ..teachers could use their influence and status and take advantage of the student ???????

Thats what i said, if the teacher is using his influence to socialise with the student , she is being forced to go around with him... But if both of them are equally willing to going around and be with each other, then there is no question of the teacher using his powers to influence her...
