ANyone has seen the movie? I saw it and i can say it's good. Leonardo seemed to really choosing more mature roles and subject matter for his commercial movies. However, i still feel there's something missing for him to get away from that matinee idol image. I then figured it's the voice. In Departed, he was rough but still not that menacing. Similarly, in Blood Diamond he was supposed to be an ex-mercenary and hardened by experiences in life, but still even with the wrinkles and stubbles, personally I find it difficult to completely accept him as an action star. I imagine though he would be great as a Mafia gangster who's notoriety is disguised by a sweet face. Anyway, in Blood Diamond the subject matter is as serious as dengue. I mean, people might not be concerned about a mosquito bite until it gets to the point of being uncurable. or at least, difficult to treat. What is happening in Africa, as revealed in the movie, has irreversible consequences to the people directly affected by the illegal acts done to "harvest" diamonds in a poor country.
