Life around the world

Canada

Some of my friends think I might have had a great childhood growing up around the world, but I find that I missed out on so much from not being here in Canada. Not just from missing things as they came out here such as tv shows and the like . But the thing I find now that I am over 40 that I have no friends from when i was a child. The people I know now talk about the friends they grew up with the schools they went to people they have known for years. I fell I missed something really important, yes I have some wonderful friends now but wonder what it would be like to know someone now that I knew when I was 10 or 15 years old even. Does anyone else have the same kind of felling that they missed something from not growing up in the same place??

It sounds like the childhood you had can be related to the childhood of people who are army brats(I think that is the term)and it is difficult to make long-term relationships as they have had no experience in it growing up.

I wasnt an army brat but an Embassy one, but same kind of thing move every 3 years learn new language make new friends never knowning how long it was going to last. Your point about relationships is valid. Will think on that to start a new thread. THanks.

count only what life has provided you... and not what you missed
