Does anyone use e-gold? Is it free?

Apparently the country I'm living in does not have PayPal. So I signed up for an e-gold account. I was just wondering if it was free or if I have to pay for it? I couldn't find it written anywhere on the site. Or maybe I overlooked it. So is it actually free? Or do I have to pay for my e-gold account?

well its free you dont need to pay them for subscription but they earn money by charging you some percent of the money you transfer using e-gold, by the way its doesnt have not the best rate on the internet, but still for people like us who cant make a paypal its useful

It is free to sign up. E-gold makes it's money by charging a commission on transactions. It is quite a small amount that they charge so you hardly notice it. A very good system that I have used for years.
