Bells & Buzzers To Call People, degrading or not?

hey have buzzers in DOME cafe to call the waiter's attention. Some large houses have portable wireless buzzers to summon house help, some offices have small bells that alert secretaries that their bosses need them. Q: does this degrade people? is this practical? Some say its efficient and practical, some say calling a person by name is polite. Maybe we can come up with a voice recording that calls peoples name so we can still summon house helpers using a button?

Hi eunixia, I don't think it's degrading to call people by bells and buzzers, most of the time it is just not pheasable to shout someones name, I do like the idea of voice recordings but can you imagine how impractical that would be in a store with lots of employees. I do think there are worse ways of degrading people out there anyway - good discussion topic!

I just seem to observe things on the lobby of a hotel, or even on the resturant. It seems disrespectful. Anyway like everyone else, Its just my own opinion. Thanks for the comment anyway.

Sorry eunixia, I didn't mean to degrade your question - of course you're entitled to your opinion, I was just expressing mine! Have a good day
