Star shows how much active the user is on the site.As he gets +ve ratings he will go up and as he gets -ve rating he goes down.

star rating is the rating mylot gives to users when they reach the 100mark of posts. mylot says it has nothing to do with the quality of the discussions of the user. but no one really knows how this star rating is computed and what exactly is the basis. all am sure about is that a negative rating will affect your star reputation. some mylot users say they get better pay for having a high star reputation. some say there is no difference. based on my experience, there is really no difference at all with a low and high rating when it comes to earnings.
