Friendship is something that helps to keep us sane in a crazy world. Without friends, you would never have that person to smack you upside the head and tell you what a bad idea you have is, or, be there just to sit next to you while you pour your heart out. For example, here is an email I had and the response from a woman I have been good friends with since we were 12 years old. We have been through alot together... I wrote: Hey hon! Just thought I'd drop a note, since I haven't said hi in awhile. I was thinking about you earlier. I was going through a box of stuff I've kept from school, and came across a letter you wrote to me back in the beginning of high school that I had managed to hold onto all these years. And still, all these years later, it still managed to lift my spirits. You probably don't even remember it, so I thought I'd send it to you, to let you know I love you, and appreciate the friendship we've had all this time. Even though we haven't been that close lately, Iknow you would still do anything you could for me, and me the same for you. So here itis, and I hope it makes you smile, even just for remembering. "Cori, I'm sitting here afraid and scared wondering about tomorrow. What would I ever do without a friend like you, for your love, strength, and friendship keeps me going everyday. You guide me through this world and help me live my life. I can talk to you like no-one else, and I know you won't tell. I can cry on your shoulder, and I can lean on you! You are always there for me in good times and bad, and I know you will always be there inthe years to come. You have been my friend for only a short time, but you know me inside and out. It seems like we have known each other forever, and that's how long I WILL know you. From now and FOREVER!! I am very thankful to have such a loving, caring, sharing and unbelievable friend as yourself. I just want you to know I will always be there for you to repay you for always being there for me! I hope we will be friends from now until the day that I die! Thank you very much! Love, Kara '95 " As you can see, that was 12 years ago, and we still have an amazing friendship. We live 1500 miles apart, both with families, but if something happens, and the other needs one, we take the few moments needed to just listen and lend support and a loving ear. I do hope sharing this extremely moving and special excerpt from my life helped to open your eyes to the necessesity of people needing, craving, a kindred spirit in which to share the joys, sorrows, and everyday bullsh** of life. I wish you the best in everything you do!!!

P.S. I got ahead of myself, and forgot to post the response she sent to me when I sent this email reminding her of the letter she had written a decade before. It went like this: "Awww your first part before my letter brought tears to my eyes. {{HUGS}} I've missed you all these years living so far apart. I know we drifted apart in high school, but I often thought about you. I could never drive past your parents street without thinking of you. You were a very important person in my life and one of my first friends that I made when we moved to Florida. I was in a very difficult place when we first moved there because of my dad, and having a friend like you, made it easier to go on. I thank you for all that you've done for me and for continuing to care for me. I truly believe that we will be friends forever. I'm so glad that I have met you. Thanks so much. Oh, and I have to say that my favorite pizza to this day is ham and pineapple, the pizza I had at your house one night when I spent the night. :) I still remember:) Love ya, Kara
