I am wanting to get started couponing. I have a pretty big family and know this would have to help out on the bill. I bought the big sunday paper the last two weeks and clipped out the coupons. I think I saved 3.00 on my grocery bill this week from coupons. What is the best way to organize the coupons, by date or by items? Also I would like to rebate. I sent in one that was for hunts ketchup but I had to send in the whole grocery receipt so how will I be able to get any more rebates from what I bought that week when I dont have the receipt? Looking forward to saving money and learning new things. Thanks for your response in advance! My mom used to rebate all the time. I remember her saving boxes and stuff to send off for rebates.

As a poster already said, keep them in order of item, but in the item-order, also in order of date, so you make sure to use the oldest first.

Coupons and rebates are great ways to save money. I really like rebates because they actually send you a check and it ends up feeling like extra money instead of saved money.

check the shops online, they always have that portion for sale, rebates, clearances, and roll-backs. here's a funny article on money wisdom ... http://www.quazen.com/Home/Personal-Finance/Money-Wisdom.3562

Check with your local grocery stores too. I used to shop at one that doubled all coupons plus you could use the store coupons too. So I would save tons of money that way. Getting stuff for next to nothing. Good luck!

Actually I've been clipping coupons and doing Rebates for several years now. I can buy a weeks worth of food for $20 a week now. I shop for 6 people. I get Toothpaste, Deodarant, Hair products and makeup for free all the time! Check your Rebates and see if you can make copies of the receipt, a lot of them you can't. You will have to buy them all separate so you can send the receipts in. Some sites that I visit that help me and give me tips are www.afullcup.com and www.iwantfreegrocies.com. They will help you get started!! About filing put them in order by items like breakfast, cleaning, frozen foods and so on. then put the oldest date in the back. Make sure you take your coupons everywhere you go cuz you never know when you will find a deal. Walgreens and Target always have good deals with their coupons and you can use a manf coupon also to save even more money. And CVS offers ECB's which gives you money back to use in their store!! Have fun and if you have any questions just let me know!
