I have two stepdaughters, both in the National Guard. The youngest is 19 and serving in Bagdad. My second stepdaughter is 21 years old and is anticipating that her deployment orders will come later this year. I am proud of their bravery and dedication to their unit, the guard and their country. I worry about how the experience of seeing the war up close and personal will affest them at such a young age. If you have a daughter or stepdaughter serving our country in the military.. how do you feel about it?

My three daughters are not old enough to serve in the millitary. I can't imagine the mental stress parents of servicemen and women must be going through. We should all keep them in prayer and thank them when they come home.

I think my husband has just blocked his emotions about this...I cannot get him to talk about it. We have not heard from Katie for a few months now and the kids miss her terribly. Please, keep Katie in your prayers.

I don't have a daughter in the military but i have a 20 year old son in Okinawa with the mariens.. He got sent to iraq and was there for a few months.. I was very worried about him.. But very proud.. He is going to be send back home from okinawa in june but he told me today that he will probably have to go back to iraq sometime next jan.. that sucks.. I pray for him and all the other military men and women overseas.. and protecting our country.. I just want to say Thank you to your stepdaughter and that she will be in my prayers as well..

No, but I have a sister in the Airforce. She has been to Iraq and now is stationed in England. The only thing you can do is just keep them in your prayers. Your daughters will experience things that other young people their age won't. My sister is ok but I do notice she is more security conscious now. Good luck and God Bless you and your daughters.
