Do you have a dirty job that you love?

One of my husbands favorite shows is the Discovery Channel show "Dirty Jobs". The show is entertaining and enlightening. The host Mike Rowe actually gets his hands dirty by doing some of the dirtiest jobs around. The one thing I have noticed is that the people that he has met, such as coal miners, pig farmers and sewer inspectors love what they do and do it very well!! Anyone have a dirty job that they love or know someone who does?

My husband is an auto mechanic so he is filthy all the time. I remember him scrubbing his hands with dawn dishsoap, comet and a scrub brush before our wedding. lol I do daycare so I am often covered with poop, boogers, vomit, and other nasty substances. Some days are messier than others and it could always be worse.

My husband once worked in a pig slaughter house. He used to tell me all kinds of stories. I was pregnant at the time and he would come home covered in blood stained clothes. It made me went to puke when he came home. One day he was hiding something behind his back and it was a pig's eye and he said, "here's lookin at you babe!"..LOL!..he enjoyed the job actually but it didnt pay good at all.

Wow!! a pig's eye? I would never let him forget that!! That sounds like the same sense of humor that my husbands has!! Don't you think that people that have "dirty jobs" should be compensated accordingly? I mean it certainly is not the most desirable job..you could keep a really good employee around if they are compensated accordingly.
