Has anyone else let their kids have this? You get a DVD with 3 stories and a comic of the same stories. My boys absolutely love it and keep wanting it on, I think they are starting to say some of the words with her already. We are on issue 2, it teaches spanish words with jolly stories and nice mannners. Do you think this is a good start in learning Spanish?

My six year old niece loves Dora the Explorer and I do believe she has a DVD collection like the one you've described. My sister has done up her bedroom in a complete Dora theme, blankets, poster, etc and she was thrilled when she first saw it. Cheers!

What a lovely idea, I'm so glad it makes your little niece happy, my boys are getting impatient awaiting the next issue, it's even overtaking Dr Who at the moment which is a big deal for them.

All the stories are very good. My daughter loves Dora. She calls it "Doraspora" (LOL). It gives children time to think and makes them pronounce words. We are not learning Spanish in my country, but for English even (since English is not our native language) its very good.

Thank-you for your reply, it is sometimes a bit difficult to know whether these sets are worth it, especailly if they don't seem to pick up on the educational part, they do seem to love her at the moment so I'll probably let them have it until the novalty wears off.

Well I guess it is if they are already copying the words but does it also tell them what it means cause it is no use learning the Words if they don't know what they mean

It's pretty simple we have a few colours, tree, numbers, please, thank-you, hello things like that and it is always explained or 2 charactors say it one in each language or Dora translates the spanish to Boots, the monkey. It's repetative too, so they learn the songs quick.

I hadn't about this DVD, but my kids would love it. They have learned many Spanish words from Dora and both can count to 10 in Spanish!

I've seen bits of the show on TV, didn't know about the DVD though. It really does seem like a cool show with a lot of good morals, values, and a nice lesson in Spanish at the same time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would love to have their child grow up learning more than one language. It sounds to me like the DVD would be really worthwhile, as well. I wouldn't have guessed that it comes with a comic. That's cute! ^_^

I think it might be a start as in England we are not good at teaching our little ones languages. It's a new thing I got from the corner shop,it seems very wholesome and simple, the voices get a bit wearing after the third time running one after the other but my boys are singing the soongs and thoroughly enjoying them selves. Think it's quite a nice idea.
