If you're a Christian, and if you celebrate Christmas (and are a parent - of course), do you use Santa as a deterrent (sp?) to negative behavior? For instance, for my husband and me, we don't want our children's behavior to be taught by fictional characters. What do you do? And/or, what do you think of this type of parenting?

I am a Christian and we do celebrate Christmas, When our kids were small there was a Santa to them but as they have gotten older and don't believe that Santa exist, we have taught them what Christmas is. So we don't celebrate it in the same way's anymore. I think that it is whatever you believe and how you want to raise your children.

Thank you for your comment. I believe, like you, that we should teach children the importance of why we celebrate Christmas.
