Coal is used to produce a large variaty of products. The most useful are the volatile-rich coal types like some of the bituminous coals. The volatile substances containd by the coal are processed into gasoline, insecticides, medicaments, rubber, and other chemical substances. On the other hand, some coals have a great percentage of metals in their ash, and this makes the ash exploitable for the extraction of metals. They can extract Au (if it makes more than 0.5 g/t), Ag (2g/t), U (1.1 g/t) and other metals like V, Mn, Pt.
