When preparing for a vacation, how do you go about purchasing your tickets?

When choosing to fly, taking a train or taking a bus, how do you go about purchasing your tickets? Do you go to the actual stations to get your tickets, use an online website (Cheap Tickets, Expedia, etc.), go to a travel agency or some other method? I find it easier to purchase my tickets online, through an online service or through the company itself online.

I have done this several different ways depending on the cheapest route. I just bought air fare to Holland and I used an online site. I have also used a travel agent and purchased from them locally. I have also purchased travel accomodations over the phone. I just shop aroud and compare prices and pay with the chapest.

That is a good way to go about finding the best prices. I should probably try all the choices but online is probably the easiest to do.

I go to different sites online. I check out who is easier to shop on. Sometimes it will pull up different flight that another didn't have for some reason. Then I also look at the fees that different sites charge. But either way, I buy my tickets online. I really don't like going to an agent because I can do the same thing at home and on my own time. I don't go to the Airline its self unless it is online. LOL So, I purchasing....online. :) Gotta love the internet!

Purchasing online is the way to go for me, whether for travel or for shopping purposes. I have tried a few over the years and find it better than a travel agent or agency locally.

I am heading for Texas during the last week of March so I am happy since I will be seeing family. I used Cheaptickets.com and got a good rate. I was surprised how low the cost was for roundtrip.

I don't usually buy tickets. I prefer to drive everywhere in the USA. I've never been out of the country before and maybe then I will buy the tickets early online.

When it comes to buying tickets I would rather buy them online and have bought them online the past three times. I like that much better. It's painless, cheaper, saves time, and we don't have to go anywhere to buy them.

It's definitely easier to purchase online and usually can be less expensive. I usually look on travel sites (expedia, etc.) to see the best offers and then search on american airlines website and any airlines that aren't affiliated with the travel websites (such as Southwest). Either way, I usually purchase at the actual airlines website because you save yourself the service fee - unless last minute package deal including hotel, car, etc.

I do find it much easier to purchase online as well. I just purchased tickets to Texas the other day and it was very cheap, even with the service charge. Most of mine is done online or I just drive to the destination if it is in the states.
