slamming on my phone bill

I have been charged for services that I did not sign up for. I called the company many times to take me off and I did get a credit for the one month but was charged for last month. I called my phone company and asked them to deduct this company's charges and was advised to get in touch with the Public Utilities Commision and he said these charges was slamming. I can't find any phone number for the commision and even called information but did not get any results. Why is it so difficult to find a state government listing? I was hoping I could find it on the internet so if someone could help me I would be grateful.

There is a hold that you can have placed on you phone service that will not allow anyone to make changes to your phone service unless you authorize it (the phone company cannot make changes with out you contacting them first). You should call your local phone company and ask them about this free service.

what state do you live in? I typed in public utilites commission in www.whitepages.com and got several hits for different states.
