We have come to tha age of computers. It is almost impossible for us to function without our computers, PDA's or whatever modern gadgets we have now. Must IT be taught to our kids? How will it be relevant to their studies? Will it help improve their studies? Or will it degrade the quality of their education?

I think IT must be taught to kids. We are in the Information Age where knowledge is power. We have to equip the future generation for more development in technology. We would not want them to be left behind. I also think it would be very relevant. Knowing how to manipulate and handle technology is very much an advantage for them.

oh i dont like even school system.I feel they are boaring.Teachers are only the peoples need to beat students. So how can they teach us .IT is just a new thing for most of teachers.they know what is multimedia but may confuse in applicaiion i have ever think that how do they maintaion to teach students. But as your above thinking i like to teach kids by making IT compulsary in schools. This will make them more cautious toward technology and make them to think big.

I don't think it HAS to be taught ot our kids, but I ebeliev it is beneficial. Many children don't have a PC at home - especially kids in public schools - but they still need the exposure. School is th eonly place to get that. I don't think anything beyond a PC needs to be taught.

if you do not familiarise your child with modern gadgets and computer they will remain outdated in their age.
