Okay. I might just have an obsession with leather..not that I own alot since I'm always broke. But whenever I see a coat..or some boots..well, you can visibly see me cooing and drooling over them.

When I read your question I didn't think it applied to me, but thinking about it I do seem to have a heck of alot of leather stuff three coats, two trousers, gloves, even underwear! I can't even count how many pairs of leather boots and shoes I've got (I'd be here all day!) So yes I think I must have an unhealthy obsession with leather and didn't know it! Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

LOL - this puts you in with a load of my goth friends, hun. My partner has a gorgeous long leather coat, a short leather coat and a biker jacket, two pairs of leather trousers, and I have a biker jacket, a pair of leather trousers, and a leather corset :-) Nothing wrong with leather hun, it keeps you warm and waterproof - LOL

In the sixties rawhide leather jeans were the real thing- tie dye was for tourists. you were counter culture if you hade a local leather worker make these for you, and god they cost!My earliest and strongest obsession started in first grade when we received some newly printed readers. the smell of ink on that creamy thick paper. Whoa. It makes my toes curl just to think about it. I've loved books all my life, but a book like that , my nose in the binding, the smooth page. Sorry I started salivating there and gasping a little. forgive. whew, juicy!

Oh Goddess..those are wonderful aren't they? I've loved books since forever too..I'm always tickled when I find an old one -- antique and older books are the only thing I truly collect. I have one, which is deterorating too quickly for my tastes, it has a leather cover. But the neat thing about it is, that the cover says "The Iliad" and has works of different poets -- English ones, not greek philosophers! I'd give anything to own a pair of leather jeans today..it's kinda hard for me to find REAL leather locally..everything's that new fangled..whatchamacallit..pleather..which reminds me more of plastic than leather. Other than my leather jacket and boots, my prized posession's a little miniature version of horse reins..they're real leather too..it was a gift..and every now and again I can't resist putting it near my nose and breathing in the scent of real leather. Hehe, I can't blame ye for salivating! That's enough to make anyone's mouth water methinks ^_^

We all had to (in the days of yore) go to a leather craftsman to have them made, they were rough, realtively thick leather, had to fit- naturally like a glove, and they never ever lost that smell. There are leather workers today. sugar Loaf Artists community in New York has one. Just pull sugar loaf ny on your search engine. Just for curiosity. Sigh, car manufacturers, idiots have spray cans of new car smell, and one that claims to be -you got it- leather. Right.
