I heard a lot of things there were dog owners who sleep with their dogs and cuddle them just as they are their son or daughter. DO you do this thing too?

I don't sleep with my dog ... apart from the fact that i wouldn't anyway - she is unable to jump up/down from the bed so i'd be disturbed all night! She does get a lot of cuddles though as she has lived her whole life apart from the last year as a lap dog for an old lady who used to let her always sit on her knee for the whole day. After 15 years of doing this - it'll be too hard to break the habit!

Yes I do take my dog with me to the bedroom! I as well do have a tendency to cuddle with my puppy dog when I am trying to go to sleep at night.. I like to believe that she is not a dog.. But instead she is apart of the family.. And where we sleep, she sleeps as well! Say for instance.. It's a very cold night.. I know that she'll be there to help keep us warm. She's quite the little furnace, I can say that much. It's nice to know that if one of us is having a hard time getting warm under the covers that she's not far away, giving off enough heat to warm us up. Don't get me wrong though, I don't just use my puppy as a heater... She has feelings too & I'd like to think she enjoys snuggling with me or my other half as well. Especially since if she isn't able to sleep in-between me & my other half.. A lot of the time she will get upset & will keep on trying until she gets her way! She's silly that way! . . There's no way that I would leave my dog outside of my room.. Especially since I consider her apart of my family.. And I don't think as well that I would be able to get a good nights rest knowing that.. She is laying outside our bedroom door just waiting for us to open the door & let her in.. I think that's not only a cruel thing to do to your animal.. But to me if a person honestly does feel that there dog is apart of the family.. They'd be more than willing to make room for there pet to sleep beside them.. Or at least be able to sleep somewhere in the same room as the owners. I sometimes feel that with my puppy I am raising a child.. I do everything a normal parent would do with the exception of changing a diaper.. And I feel in the long run my puppy is training or helping me to be a good parent.. So when I do decide to have children someday down the road.. I know that if I could handle having a puppy or raising a puppy that I could handle the responsibility of bringing a kid in to this world as well. I as well love having my puppy sleep beside me & my other half because.. I feel if she wasn't there by my side when it is time to go to bed.. I wouldn't be able to have a good nights rest.. I as well find that having her beside me helps me to relax.. I love how her tummy is so warm & I think the warmth she gives off makes me slowly doze off.. And I eventually begin to fall asleep after a short while due to this.. In conclusion.. There's a lot of reasons as to why I bring my dog to sleep with us.. I find she is a part of the family so should be treated equally like everyone else in the house.. Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

NO..i never took the dogs in my room, the hair of the dogs can cause sickness, especially those people who had asthma, its not fine with them to mingle with dogs..Dogs had a place for them only..but we dont have to hate them,,treat them as human..

My dog has her own 'house' outside for night and a big yard for the day. When we are at home in the day, she is allowed inside, and in the morning jumps on the bed for a cuddle. We wash and brush her often though. There's nothing worse than a smelly dog in your bed! Dogs cannot be treated as humans, but do have personality (dogsonality), so I give them 'priviledges' in the house, but they know the limitations.

Both of my dogs sleep in my bed every night. So does my cat most nights. We didn't want them too and we never let our big dog do it until we got the little one. The first night we had her there was a really bad thunderstorm, though. And she is so afraid of thunder that she kept jumping into the bed. We would put her back on the pillow we had by the bed for her, but she would just keep getting back in bed between us. Finally we gave in. She has slept in our bed every night since. And of course since she does, the other one does too. And the cat, well, she just does whatever she wants to.

Yes I do share my bed with my labrador. But she is only allowed to enter my room when I'm home. But she has full access to the house. As big as she is, she knows how to behave when she's in it.

I have cute japanese spitz...I mean, really cute but I never tried putting him on my bed and never ever slept with a dog on my bed. It's not that I got annoyed with them but I believe men are for the bedroom while dogs are for doghouses. If you would want your dog to sleep with you on your bed, then what's the use of the doghouse after all? But am not condemning those people who do, well that's their choice.. but never let me hear them saying they feel bad because their dogs pee on their bed...they should have known that before grabbing their dogs from their doghouse and putting them on their beds.

I never do it cos I know that the fur is not good to go into our lungs. Specially, since my son has undergone heart surgery, he is not allowed to go near any animal with fur (may be i am over protective). Because of this, we have a fish tank and fish are their pets.

my dog sleeps with me at night, but usually not cuddled up against me - usually on or around my feet. That way if he gets too warm he can jump off without disturbing me, and we both get a nice comfy place to sleep.
