Is reading while lying on the bed a bad habit? What are its effects? Can it damage your eyes?

I dont think its a bad habit. I used to do it all the time. The only reason I dont is because i cant stay still for long periods and i always end up all over the bed. I think its harder on your neck and back than your eyes. Its only bad on your eyes if you have bad lighting.

Sometimes when I'm really tired and just want to refresh my mind I lay down and read books but most of the time I read books at the living room or at the terrace of our house. Some studies shows that it can damage your eyes when you are reading on that position also when you are reading when on motion like on cars or other moving vehicle.

i know it is bad habit but i still do it. actually i sit whole day in front of my computer on chair and when it comes to study then i don't prefer sitting again on chair. so i prefer to go in bed and read till the time i feel sleepy sleepy and then i sleep. its effects are that ur reading speed decreases drastically, then u have to tilt ur head and this can increase torsal pain. it can't damage eyes until we don't study in dim light. so we should prefer place where white light is available and then it would not affect our eyes. have a nice day.

I read in bed. I already wear glasses to read and to drive so I don't know if it was from reading the books or not. I don't think it would have any more effects on you than reading in any other place. I love to sit there and relax with my book right before I go to bed.

I don't think it is any worse than reading in any other position. As long as you have a decent light to read by it shouldn't damage your eyes.
